I am currently in the process of thinking of starting a new website. I wanted to create a new domain name and thought of fightforfreedomandtruth.com. However, I am reluctant to use this name because of the implications which obviously come the word fight. When I mean fight, I do not mean "Grab your torch and pitch forks!" What I do mean is that one should be willing to fight for what one believes in. That does not mean bloodshed. I do not glory in bloodshed, nor will I ever. Words have a much stronger message behind them. Especially when we are not scrutinizing what was exactly meant by what has been spoken. I consider most people intelligent enough to come to an understanding of what the message was from the words spoken, rather than the necessity of being "Politically Correct" all the time. One example I give of this, is the idea that we are not suppose to call the Swine flu the Swine flu. Why? Are we going to hurt the feelings of the pigs? Or is it a much more sophisticated response, that somehow the people that got the flu in the first place happen to live around pigs, therefore it would be an insult to them if we called it the Swine Flu? It doesn't make sense.
I am drawing closer and closer to being moved to action against the politicians. I do not single out any politicians. Rather, I want to look at the facts and look at the truth. This country which we call the United States, was founded upon the idea of Representation. We went to war against Great Britain because they were not being fair, they were not listening to what is being spoken. Becuase of this, the people in America felt it necessary to revolt and the Declaration of Independence was signed and the revolution began. Where is our voice now? We elected the politicians into office, but are they doing the job that WE hired them to do? Have we forgotten that WE pay them? Have we forgotten that THEY work for US? and not the otherway around. I believe that there is a power struggle between the politians and the little guys. Unfortunately, the country can only go down one path. We are at the crossroads right now and the driver has already chosen the way to go, are we going to stand by and watch as he makes this country into the very country we revolted against during the founding of this great Nation? Or are we going to speak up and become a voice. If there are enough people talking, the politicians will have no other choice than to side with the people. But, unfortunately Napoleon was right when he claimed to control the masses with bread and circuses.

I am following the news a little bit and am a little concerned about what is happening in Congress. Tom Daschle, who Obama elected to be the health and human services director has failed to pay taxes, the sum of which is about $130,000. Is that not enough for him to be put in jail? If one of us 'common folk' failed to pay $130,000 in taxes, then what would happen to us? We would have to repay all of that money, plus interest and may have to go to jail. Why is the government letting Daschle get away with it? That is a question I cannot answer, but I do hope that we as a country treat EVERYONE equal, with equal rights. I do not believe the IRS has much sympathy on people that have made an 'honest mistake.' I am okay with the fact that he made an honest mistake and I will give him the benefit of the doubt, I am only saying that he should be prosecuted the same as any other American. We do live in a land of equality and equality means equal. Daschle should not be given that position and should repay all of his back taxes (if he knew what were good for him, he already would have). Anyway, that is my rant for the day.

It has been a couple of days since I have last written a post, the reason for this is because of this Augustine paper I have been writing. It was a very interesting paper to write. I was trying to prove that St Augustine became a Christian because of his belief in Platonism, which is the belief in what Plato taught. It was very interesting to compare the similarities and also the differences between Christianity and Platonism. I have mixed feelings about finishing with the paper, on the one hand I am happy because I am done with it, and yet on the other I am not so happy because I know that the next book I have to read seems a little longer and is probably more philosophical than St Augustine's Confessions. Oh well, I will get it done and maybe learn something in the process.

St. Augustine
I am sitting here, attempting to write a paper on St. Augustine. He is not well known, so I will explain who he is. He was a Christian convert during the end the the 4th Century. It was a good book, but the paper is just not coming. The paper is for my History of Christianity class. It is a very interesting class. Things are looking up though, because I now know in what order I am going to write it. I won't bore you with the minute details. (did I spell that right?)
On a side note, I just heard some very good advice...that I especially need to take into consideration. The advice is that you need to put your family before you dream. That seems like something small and when you read it, I bet you thought...duh!!! But it hit me like a ton of pebbles.
I think this is good for now. I will get this paper done, it might take a second or two though...

My first post.
This is a new blog. I know you know this, but I thought I would spread the word. I don't really know what to blog about...did I just make blog a verb?...so I am just going to write. I just got finished studying for a map quiz. I had to learn about a lot of -stans that were, before this time, not existent. Some examples are Uzbekestan, Kirgizsgtan and Tadzhikistan. I am not sure if I spelled them right, but it really doesn't matter, becuase you will not be looking them up anyway.
As I sit here pondering the facts of life, my life keeps returning to the fact that
This is my video. It is not great, just simple. Anyway, this is just a trial, I might delete it later, but here goes.
